Required materials:

* LED strip (12V, cool white recommended)
* Wires for connection
* Wire terminals
* Heat shrink tube
* Alcohol wipes or degreaser

Tools:

* Wire scissors
* Soldering iron or connecting terminals
* Side cutters
* Screwdriver (optional)

Installation steps:

1. Preparation:

* Degrease the surface of the gear shift lever where the backlight will be installed.
*Cut the LED strip to the desired length to wrap around the arm.

2. Connecting wires:

* Solder or use jumper terminals to connect the wires to the ends of the LED strip, observing the polarity (usually red wire to positive, black to negative).
*Place heat shrink tubing over solder or joint areas and apply heat to insulate the joints.

3. Backlight installation:

* Wrap the LED strip around the gear shift lever. Make sure it fits snugly to the surface.
* Secure the tape with hot glue or double-sided tape.
* Route the wires through the appropriate hole in the center console.

4. Connection to power supply:

*Connect the wires to a 12V power source. You can use the wire to light the cigarette lighter or any other suitable source.
* Make sure connections are secure and insulated.

5. Check:

*Turn on the power supply to check if the backlight is working.
*Adjust the brightness or position of the LED strip as needed.

* Choose a backlight color that matches the overall interior of the car.
* Check that the wires do not touch moving parts of the vehicle or pose a hazard.
