Required materials:
* LED strip (SMD 5050 or SMD 3528) of the desired color
* Wires
* Soldering iron
* Heat shrink tubing
* Glue or double-sided tape
Instructions:
1. De-energize the vehicle: Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the console: Unscrew the bolts and remove the console cover. Locate the transmission control module (TCM).
3. Disconnect TCM: Disconnect the electrical connector from the TCM.
4. Remove the TCM: Remove the bolts and remove the TCM.
5. Plan your lighting: Determine the places where you want to install the LED strip. Cut the tape to the appropriate length and solder the wires to the ends. Insulate connections with heat shrink tubing.
6. Install the LED strip: Stick the LED strip to the desired locations on the TCM using glue or double-sided tape.
7. Connect the wiring: Connect the LED strip wires to the TCM connector. Make sure polarity is correct.
8. Install TCM: Reinstall the TCM and secure with bolts.
9. Connect TCM: Connect the electrical connector to the TCM.
10. Install the console: Install the console cover and secure with bolts.
11. Connect the battery: Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Adviсe:
*Using a dimmable LED strip allows you to adjust the backlight intensity.
* Avoid using LEDs that are too bright to avoid distracting the driver’s attention.
* Make sure connections are carefully insulated to prevent short circuits.
