Checking the oil level in the Hyundai Elantra automatic transmission:

Materials:

* Rag
* Wrench set

Instructions:

1. Start the engine: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to warm up the oil.

2. Place the car in park: Move the gear selector to position “P”.

3. Open the hood: Pull the hood release lever under the instrument panel and open the hood.

4. Locate the transmission oil dipstick: The oil dipstick is located near the engine, near the automatic transmission housing. It usually has an orange or red handle.

5. Pull out and wipe the dipstick: Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.

6. Insert and pull out the dipstick again: Re-insert the dipstick into the tube and pull it out again.

7. Check the oil level: Check the oil on the dipstick. The oil level should be between the “L” (low) and “H” (high) marks on the dipstick.

8. Add oil as needed: If the oil level is low, carefully pour Hyundai automatic transmission oil into the dipstick tube. Use only oil recommended by the manufacturer.

9. Recheck the oil level: After adding oil, check the oil level again by following steps 5-7.

Note:

* The gearbox oil level should be checked every 15,000 km or once a year.
* Do not overfill oil as this may damage the gearbox.
* If there are significant oil leaks or darkening of the oil, take it to a mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
