How to change gears of an automatic transmission (AT) in a Hyundai Accent:

1. Make sure the engine is running.

2. Press the brake pedal.

3. Move the gear shift lever to the desired position:

* P (Park): Locks the transmission when parking.
* R (Reverse): To move backwards.
* N (Neutral): Disengages the transmission.
* D (Drive): To move forward.
* S (Sport): For improved performance through sharper gear changes.
* M (+/-): For manual gear shifting.

4. Release the brake pedal.

5. Press the gas pedal to accelerate.

6. The transmission will automatically shift to a higher gear when speed increases.

To downshift:

* Take your foot off the gas pedal and press the brake pedal.
* If necessary, move the gear lever to the “S” or “M” position.
* In M mode, change gears manually using the steering wheel paddles or by moving the gear lever up (+)/down (-).

Note:

* Do not change gears while driving unless required.
* Do not engage reverse gear (R) while the vehicle is moving forward.
* Do not engage Park (P) while driving, as this may damage the transmission.
