How to use the automatic transmission correctly:

Gear shift:

*P (Parking): Use parking when the vehicle is not moving and is parked.
* R (Reverse): Shift into reverse gear only when the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
* N (Neutral): Use neutral when towing or when the vehicle is idling.
* D (Drive): The most common gear for normal driving.
* L or 1 (Lowest Gear): Use this gear when driving on very steep slopes or when towing heavy loads.
* 2 and 3: These gears are used rarely, usually to increase or decrease engine speed when driving at low speeds.

Tips for use:

*Always come to a complete stop before shifting into reverse: Shifting into reverse while driving may damage the transmission.
* Shift gears smoothly: Shifting gears quickly or harshly can shorten the life of the transmission.
* Avoid idling: Shifting into neutral while driving can cause unnecessary wear and reduce fuel efficiency.
* Use the brake pedal to stop the vehicle: Do not use the transmission to stop the vehicle. This will lead to premature wear of the clutches.
* Maintain your transmission regularly: This includes checking fluid levels and performing regular fluid flushes and changes.

Additional features:

* Overdrive (OD): The overdrive disable button is typically used to increase traction when driving at low speeds or when towing.
*Manual Mode: Some cars with automatic transmissions have a manual mode that allows the driver to manually select gears.

Important Note: Always follow your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations for proper transmission use. Failure to follow instructions may result in damage to the transmission or vehicle as a whole.
