Checking the oil level in the automatic transmission:
1. Prepare the car:
* Make sure the vehicle is on a level surface.
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the transmission fluid.
2. Find the dipstick to check the oil level:
*The dipstick is usually located near the engine or on the side of the transmission.
*It has a handle or a bright color to make it easy to spot.
3. Remove and wipe the dipstick:
* Pull the dipstick out of the tube and wipe it with a clean rag or paper towel.
4. Insert the dipstick back:
* Insert the dipstick completely back into the tube.
* Pull it out again.
5. Check the oil level:
* There will be two marks on the dipstick: “MAX” and “MIN”.
* The oil level should be between these marks.
Additional tips:
* Check the oil level in the automatic transmission when the engine is idling and the gear selector is in the “Park” or “Neutral” position.
*If the oil level is low, add recommended automatic transmission fluid.
* Be sure to check your oil level regularly as indicated in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
*If you find any leaks or other signs of transmission problems, take it to a mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
