Driving a Hyundai car with automatic transmission

Before starting the engine:

* The gear selector must be in ‘P’ (Park) position.
* Fasten your seat belt.

Starting the engine:

*Press the brake pedal.
* Turn the ignition key to the ‘ON’ position.
* Start the engine by pressing the ‘Start’ button or turning the key further.

Gear shift:

* With the vehicle stopped and the brake pedal depressed, move the gear selector to the desired position:
* D (Drive): For normal driving.
* R (Reverse): To move backwards.
* N (Neutral): For short stops or towing.
* P (Parking): For long-term parking or protection against theft.

Driving:

* Release the brake pedal and lightly press the gas pedal to start driving.
* The transmission will automatically change gears as speed increases.
* To slow down the car, release the gas pedal or press the brake pedal.

Downshifting:

* For engine braking or when driving on a slope, move the gear selector to the ‘S’ (Sport) position. This will lower the gear and increase engine speed.
* To shift into a specific gear (eg when towing or off-roading), move the gear selector to ‘M’ (Manual). Use the + and – buttons to change gears.

Stopping the car:

*Press the brake pedal to stop the car.
* Move the gear selector to ‘P’ position.
* Turn off the engine.

Additional tips:

* Never change gears while driving without pressing the brake pedal.
* When driving backwards, make sure there are no obstacles behind you.
* Do not keep your foot on the brake pedal while driving. This can cause the brakes to overheat and reduce braking performance.
* If you have difficulty shifting gears, contact your Hyundai dealer or service center.
