Required tools:
* Socket heads for 10, 17, 19 mm
* Extensions and cardans
* Collar
* Flat head screwdriver
* Set of spanners
* Sealant
* Gloves
Replacement procedure:
1. Set the vehicle’s parking brake and raise the front end. Use a jack and stands.
2. Remove the wheel from the side where you will be replacing it.
3. Disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. To do this, loosen the fastening nut and disconnect the tip using a puller.
4. Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle. Loosen the fastening nut and remove the support using a puller.
5. Unscrew the bolt securing the lower engine mount. Use a 19mm socket and extension.
6. Remove the axle shaft from the inner CV joint. To do this, insert a flat-head screwdriver between the drive shaft and the CV joint housing and move the drive shaft.
7. Unscrew the bolts securing the inner CV joint housing to the gearbox. Use a 10mm socket.
8. Remove the inner CV joint housing. To do this, carefully pull the housing towards you.
9. Pull the drive shaft out of the gearbox.
10. Remove the oil seal from the drive shaft. Use a flathead screwdriver to separate it from the transmission housing.
11. Install a new oil seal. Apply sealant to the oil seal seat and press it into the gearbox housing.
12. Reinstall the drive shaft. Insert the drive shaft into the gearbox and secure it with bolts.
13. Install the inner CV joint housing. Insert the CV joint housing into the transmission and secure it with bolts.
14. Install the axle shaft onto the inner CV joint.
15. Install the ball joint on the steering knuckle.
16. Install the tie rod end onto the steering knuckle.
17. Tighten all bolts.
18. Lower the car.
19. Install the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts.
