Required tool:
* Wrench set
* Pliers
* Container for draining liquid
* New transmission filter
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
Steps:
1. Prepare the car:
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Park the car.
* Open the hood and remove the negative battery terminal.
2. Draining transmission fluid:
* Locate the transmission pan. It is located at the bottom of the gearbox.
* Place a container to drain the liquid under the drip pan.
* Loosen the drain plug on the pan using a wrench.
* Allow the transmission fluid to drain completely.
3. Filter replacement:
* Locate the transmission filter. It is attached to the pallet with four bolts.
* Unscrew the bolts using a wrench.
* Remove the pan and remove the old filter.
* Place the new filter in place of the old one.
* Install and tighten the bolts.
4. Pallet installation:
* Clean the mating surface of the pan and gearbox housing.
* Apply sealant to the mating surface of the pallet.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts.
5. Filling with transmission fluid:
* Locate the filler plug on the transmission. It is located on the side of the box.
* Using a funnel, pour new transmission fluid into the transmission.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick. The level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks.
6. Completion:
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the gear lever through all positions and return to the “P” position.
*Check the transmission fluid level again and add fluid if necessary.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
