DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) gearbox for Volkswagen Jetta
DSG is a dual-clutch automatic transmission developed by the Volkswagen Group.
DSG operating principle:
* The box has two clutches: one for odd gears, the other for even ones.
* Thanks to this, the clutches can operate alternately, effectively changing gears without interrupting traction.
* The electronic transmission control unit (mechatronics) selects the desired gear depending on driving conditions.
DSG types for Volkswagen Jetta:
* DSG-6 (DQ250): 6-speed DSG with mo clutch. Used on models with torque up to 380 Nm.
* DSG-7 (DQ200): 7-speed DSG with dry clutch. Used on models with torque up to 250 Nm.
DSG advantages:
* Fast and smooth gear shifting
*Fuel savings compared to traditional automatic transmissions
*Sport mode for dynamic driving
* Manual mode allowing the driver to change gears independently
Features of DSG on Volkswagen Jetta:
* Hill-Hold Assist
* Driving mode switch (Eco, Normal, Sport)
* Possibility of installing steering paddles for gear shifting
The DSG is a reliable and efficient automatic transmission that provides a comfortable and dynamic driving experience. However, like any other gearbox, it requires regular maintenance and periodic oil and filter changes.
