Location of the SsangYong Kyron automatic transmission drain plug:
1. Place the car on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and let it cool.
3. Raise the front of the car using a jack and install secure supports.
4. Get under the car and find the automatic transmission oil pan. It is usually located at the bottom of the transmission.
5. The drain plug will be located at the very bottom of the oil pan.
Tools needed to remove the drain plug:
* Drain plug wrench (usually square or hex)
* Pliers
* Copper drain plug washer (new)
Procedure for removing the automatic transmission drain plug:
1. Place a container under the drain plug to collect used oil.
2. Using a drain plug wrench, carefully loosen the plug. Do not remove the plug completely.
3. Once the oil begins to flow out, use pliers to completely unscrew the plug and remove it from the pan.
4. Remove the old copper washer and replace it with a new one.
5. Lubricate the plug threads with a small amount of new transmission fluid.
6. Replace the plug and tighten it with a wrench. Do not overtighten the plug.
