Automatic transmission cooling system Nissan Pathfinder R51

The Nissan Pathfinder R51 automatic transmission cooling system is integrated with the engine cooling system and consists of the following components:

1. Automatic transmission radiator:

*Located at the front of the vehicle, in front of the main engine radiator.
*Consists of several tubes and plates that allow coolant to circulate and dissipate heat.

2. Automatic transmission heat exchanger:

* Located at the bottom of the automatic transmission radiator.
* Consists of pipes and plates that allow the engine coolant to exchange heat with the automatic transmission coolant.

3. Automatic transmission coolant:

* Special fluid designed to transfer heat from the automatic transmission and prevent overheating.
* Circulates inside the automatic transmission cooling system.

4. Automatic transmission pump:

* Provides coolant circulation through the automatic transmission cooling system.
*Powered by car engine.

5. Automatic transmission temperature sensor:

* Monitors automatic transmission coolant temperature and transmits data to the automatic transmission control module (TCM).
* The TCM uses temperature information to regulate automatic transmission operation and protect against overheating.

Working principle:

* When the automatic transmission operates, heat will be generated that must be removed to prevent overheating.
* Heat is transferred to the automatic transmission coolant, which circulates through the automatic transmission cooling system.
* The heat exchanger exchanges heat between the automatic transmission coolant and the engine coolant, which then dissipates the heat through the main engine radiator.
* The automatic transmission pump ensures constant circulation of coolant.
* The automatic transmission temperature sensor monitors the coolant temperature and regulates the operation of the automatic transmission in accordance with it.
