Materials:

*Adapter for OBD-II diagnostics
* Car diagnostic software (such as VCDS or ODIS)

Instructions:

1. Connect to the transmission control module (TCM):

*Connect the diagnostic adapter to the vehicle’s OBD-II port.
*Run diagnostic software and connect to TCM.

2. Reading the current encoding:

* Go to function group “02 – Automatic transmission”.
* Select the function “10 – Adaptation”.
* Read the “00 – Encoding” field for the current value.

3. Entering a new encoding:

* Make sure the vehicle is in rest mode (park or neutral).
* Enter the new encoding in the “00 – Encoding” field.
* The new coding must be provided by the vehicle manufacturer or a reliable source.

4. Write a new encoding:

* Click the “Test” or “Record” button.
* The software will write the new encoding to the TCM.

5. Clearing the fault code memory:

* After recording a new coding, it is necessary to clear the fault code memory.
* Return to the main menu of the diagnostic program.
* Select function “01 – Electronics” (or similar).
* Select function “04 – Clear fault codes”.
* Clear all fault codes.

6. Exit the diagnostic program:

* Disconnect from TCM.
* Close the diagnostic software.

7. Check:

* Start the engine and shift the gear selector to different positions.
* Make sure that the automatic transmission is working correctly and without problems.

Attention:

* Automatic transmission coding should only be performed by a qualified technician or under the guidance of an authorized dealer.
* Incorrect coding can lead to damage to the automatic transmission.
*Always use official vehicle service documentation or reliable sources when obtaining codes.
