Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission cable
* 10 and 12 mm wrench
* Flat head screwdriver
* New cable clamp (if required)

Procedure:

1. Safety first:

* Set the vehicle to the parking brake and chock the wheels.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Removing the old cable:

* Determine the location of the automatic transmission cable in the engine compartment. It usually runs from the gearshift lever to the transmission.
* Disconnect the cable from the gear shift lever. To do this, press the plastic latch and pull the cable up.
* Locate the cable retainer on the gearbox and unscrew it using a 10mm wrench.
* Disconnect the cable from the gearbox by pulling it down.

3. Installing a new cable:

* Insert the new cable into the clamp on the gearbox and tighten the clamp with a 10 mm wrench.
* Route the cable through the engine compartment to the gear shift lever.
* Connect the cable to the gear shift lever and secure it with the plastic clip.
*Adjust the cable according to the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Checking the adjustment:

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and change all gears.
* Make sure that gear shifts smoothly and without delay.

5. Additional notes:

* If the cable lock is damaged or worn, it must also be replaced.
*Be sure to lubricate the new cable before installation.
* After replacing the cable, it is recommended to check the transmission fluid level in the gearbox.
