Automatic transmission adaptation after oil change in Citroen C4

Required tools:

* Lexia 3 or similar diagnostic scanner

Procedure:

Step 1: Preparation

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Place the vehicle on a level surface with the parking brake engaged.

Step 2: Connecting the diagnostic scanner

* Connect the Lexia 3 or other diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic connector.

Step 3: Start the onboarding procedure

* Select the make, model and year of your vehicle from the scanner menu.
* Go to the automatic transmission (AT) module.
* Select the adaptation function and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4: Onboarding

* The scanner will ask for oil change information. Select ‘Yes’.
*Follow the scanner’s instructions by moving the transmission selector to different positions and holding it in each position for a certain amount of time.
* The scanner will adapt the gears and shift timing.

Step 5: Completing the procedure

* Once the adaptation is completed, the scanner will display a success message.
* Turn off the ignition and allow the vehicle to cool for a few minutes.

Step 6: Check

* Start the engine and shift the transmission through different positions to check for smooth shifting.

Important Notes:

* It is recommended that the automatic transmission be adapted by a qualified mechanic using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
* Failure to adapt after an oil change may result in gear shifting problems.
*After adaptation, it may take several vehicle trips for the transmission to fully learn.
