Mercedes Viano gearbox
Mercedes Viano is equipped with an automatic transmission with torque converter. Two options are available:
* 5-speed automatic transmission (5G-Tronic)
* 7-speed automatic transmission (7G-Tronic)

Operating modes
The Viano gearbox has several operating modes:
* D (Drive): Normal driving mode. The car automatically changes gears depending on driving conditions.
* S (Sport): Mode for sporty driving. Gears shift later, providing more torque.
* W (Winter): Mode for winter conditions. Starts moving in second gear to reduce slipping.
* M (Manual): Manual mode. The driver can change gears manually using the steering wheel paddles or the gear lever.
Service
To ensure optimal transmission performance, regular maintenance is necessary:
* Replace transmission fluid and filter (every 60,000 — 80,000 km)
* Diagnostics and check of the gearbox (every 120,000 km)
* Repair or replace the gearbox if necessary
