Automatic transmission oil filter
Location:
*Located on the transmission oil pan.
* The pallet is attached to the box body with bolts.
Filter type:
* Replaceable metal mesh filter.
Filter replacement:
1. Remove the oil pan:
* Unscrew the pallet mounting bolts.
* Carefully remove the pan to drain the transmission fluid.
2. Remove the oil filter:
* The filter is installed in the pan.
* Pull the filter up to remove it.
3. Install a new filter:
* Place the new filter in the tray and secure it in place.
* Make sure the filter fits snugly into the tray.
4. Reinstall the tray:
* Apply a gasket to the pan and install it in place.
* Tighten the pan mounting bolts.
5. Fill with transmission fluid:
*Add transmission fluid to the gearbox.
* Check the fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.
Recommended replacement interval:
* 60,000 – 80,000 km or in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
Notes:
* When replacing the filter, it is also recommended to replace the pan gasket.
* Using high-quality transmission oil and filter will extend the life of the automatic transmission.
*If this is your first time changing the automatic transmission oil and filter, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
