Materials:
* 10 mm hex key
* Flat head screwdriver
* Dipstick
Tools:
* Lift or jacks
* Cordless screwdriver
Safety:
* Disconnect the battery before starting work.
* Do not make adjustments while the transmission is hot.
* Use personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles).
Adjustment:
1. Raise the car. Raise the vehicle using a lift or jacks and install support stands. Disconnect the battery.
2. Loosen the brake band locknut. The locknut is located on the brake band cover and is hexagonal. Use a 10mm hex wrench to loosen it.
3. Adjust the brake band stop screw. The stop screw is located under the lock nut and is a bolt with a flathead screwdriver head. Screw in or out the stop screw to achieve the correct brake band tension.
* The correct tension is 0.46-0.61 mm, measured with a feeler gauge.
*The space is measured between the adjusting washer and the locknut.
4. Tighten the brake band locknut. Tighten the locknut to 40-50 Nm using a 10 mm hex key.
5. Connect the battery and check the automatic transmission fluid level. Start the engine and check the automatic transmission fluid level. If necessary, add fluid to the MAX mark on the dipstick.
6. Reset the automatic transmission adaptive parameters. After adjusting the brake band, it is recommended to reset the automatic transmission adaptive parameters to ensure proper operation of the transmission. The reset can be done using an OBD-II scanner or by removing the negative terminal of the battery for 10 minutes.
Note:
*If you do not have experience adjusting automatic transmission brake bands, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
* Incorrect adjustment may damage the automatic transmission.
