* Flat head screwdriver
Procedure:
1. Find the automatic transmission cable adjusting nut. It is usually located on the motor side of the transmission, near the gear shift lever.
2. Loosen the locking bolt. It is located next to the adjusting nut. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the bolt, but do not remove it completely.
3. Loosen the adjusting nut. Use a flathead screwdriver to turn the nut counterclockwise. Loosen the nut a few turns.
4. Move the gear shift lever to the “P” position. This will ensure the cable is installed correctly.
5. Tighten the adjusting nut. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the nut clockwise. Tighten it until slight resistance is felt when moving the shift lever.
6. Tighten the lock bolt. Use a 10mm wrench to tighten the lock bolt and secure the cable adjustment.
7. Check the operation of the automatic transmission. Start the engine and check if the gears shift smoothly.

* Do not overtighten the lock bolt or adjusting nut.
*If you are unsure of your abilities, consult a qualified mechanic.
* Adjust the cable only if necessary, for example if you have difficulty shifting gears or if the gear position indicator does not indicate the current gear position.
