Materials:

* 10 mm hex key

Tools:

* Jack
* Car stands
* Wrench or ratchet

Instructions:

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
2. Use a vehicle jack and stands to raise the front of the vehicle to prevent it from falling.
3. Locate the shift cable that runs from the transmission to the interior shift lever. On Toyota Corona it is usually painted red.
4. Loosen the locknut on the end of the cable near the transmission using a wrench or ratchet.
5. At the opposite end of the cable, located next to the gear shift lever, locate the adjusting nut.
6. Turn the adjusting nut on the cable with a 10 mm hex key to adjust the cable tension. If you turn the nut clockwise, the tension decreases, and if you turn the nut counterclockwise, the tension increases.
7. Tighten the locknut to secure the position of the adjusting nut.
8. Lower the vehicle.

Checking the adjustment:

1. Start the engine and place the gear shift lever in the Park position.
2. Make sure the vehicle is securely secured with the parking brake.
3. Try moving the gear shift lever to different positions to check if it shifts correctly. If there is any resistance or inaccuracy, repeat the adjustment steps.

Adviсe:

* When adjusting the shift cable, make sure it is not kinked or overtightened.
* If you are unsure of the correct adjustment, it is recommended that you consult a mechanic.
* Check the shift cable tension regularly, especially after replacing or repairing the transmission.
