Adjusting automatic transmission shifting with a cable

Required tools:

* Wrench set
* Screwdriver with Torx head (size depends on the specific automatic transmission)

Steps:

1. Determination of the adjustment point:

Find the adjustment point on the automatic transmission cable. It is located near the transmission or throttle body. This is usually a Torx head bolt.

2. Loosen the locknut:

Using a wrench, loosen the locknut near the adjustment point. Do not remove it completely.

3. Cable adjustment:

Turn the adjustment bolt using a Torx screwdriver.

* For freer shifting, turn the bolt a little further from the mounting point.
*For tighter shifting, turn the bolt a little closer to the mounting point.

4. Checking the adjustment:

Start the engine and change gears. Experience the smoothness and response time of switching. If necessary, adjust the cable again.

5. Tightening the locknut:

When you are satisfied with the adjustment, tighten the locknut securely.

6. Checking the fastening:

Make sure that the cable is securely fastened and does not rub anywhere.

Notes:

*Each automatic transmission is unique, so the exact adjustment steps may vary.
*If you are unsure of your ability to make this adjustment, consult a qualified mechanic.
* Excessive adjustment can lead to problems with the automatic transmission.
* After adjustment, it is recommended to reset the automatic transmission memory by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. This will allow the transmission to adapt to the new settings.
