Adaptation procedure for automatic transmission Suzuki Grand Vitara 2008
Required equipment:
* OBD-II scanner
* Warm engine (operating temperature)
Procedure:
1. Make sure the engine is warmed up to operating temperature.
2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic connector.
3. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position (but do not start the engine).
4. Turn on the scanner and go to the “Automatic Transmission Control” section (or similar).
5. Find the option “Automatic transmission adaptation” or “Automatic transmission calibration”.
6. Start the adaptation procedure by following the instructions on the scanner screen.
7. Allow the procedure to complete (usually takes a few minutes).
8. After completing the procedure, turn off the engine and let it cool for a few minutes.
9. Start the engine and shift between gears several times (D-N-R) to check the operation of the automatic transmission.
Notes:
*If you do not have an OBD-II scanner, you can contact an authorized Suzuki service center to perform the adaptation procedure.
* Adaptation of automatic transmission must be performed after any repair work related to the transmission, such as changing the oil or filter.
* Do not try to adapt yourself if you are not confident in your actions. Incorrectly performed adaptation can lead to damage to the automatic transmission.
