Adaptation of the Solaris automatic transmission after an oil change

Adaptation of the automatic transmission after changing the oil is necessary for the correct operation of the transmission and increasing its service life.

When adaptation is required:

* After changing the automatic transmission oil
* After repair or replacement of automatic transmission components
*If you experience symptoms such as slipping, jerking or jerking when shifting gears

Adaptation procedure:

1. Warm up the engine and automatic transmission. Start the engine and let it idle for 10-15 minutes.
2. Perform several gear changes. Move the automatic transmission selector through all gears (P, R, N, D, 2, 1) in order, holding each position for several seconds.
3. Accelerate and decelerate the car. Accelerate the car to 60-80 km/h and then slow down until it comes to a complete stop. Repeat this process several times.
4. Ride at relaxed speeds. Drive the car for 15-20 minutes under normal road conditions, avoiding sudden acceleration and braking.
5. Switch to self-adaptation mode. Some Solaris models have an automatic transmission self-adaptation mode. If it is, follow these steps:

* Start the engine and move the automatic transmission selector to position ‘D’.
* Press and hold the gas pedal for 10 seconds.
* Release the gas pedal and let it go all the way up.
*Repeat steps 2 and 3 2 more times.

6. Turn off the engine. 10-15 seconds after completion of the self-adaptation mode, turn off the engine.

Note:

* Adaptation of automatic transmission can take up to several hundred kilometers.
* If after adaptation the symptoms persist, contact a service station to have the automatic transmission diagnosed.
