Automatic transmission adaptation is necessary to calibrate the transmission control system and ensure optimal operation of the transmission. The adaptation procedure may be required after the following steps:
* Replacement of automatic transmission or engine control unit (ECM)
* Automatic transmission overhaul or repair
* Removing or installing the propeller shaft
* Throttle position sensor (TPS) or camshaft position sensor (CMP) failure
