Required materials and tools:
* New gearbox
* Right front axle drive oil seal
* Left drive shaft oil seal
* Set of new transmission mounting bolts
* New transmission oil (make sure it meets manufacturer specifications)
* New transmission filter
* Solvent
* Sealant
* Oil injection pump for gearbox
* Wrench set
* Torque wrench
* Jack and jack stands
* Rags
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on jack stands.
* Disconnect the negative battery cable.
* Drain the gearbox oil.
2. Removing the old gearbox:
* Disconnect the front wheel drives.
* Disconnect the shift cable.
* Disconnect the wiring harness.
* Remove the lower gearbox cover and drain the remaining oil.
* Remove the transmission mounting bolts and carefully remove it from the engine.
3. Installing a new gearbox:
* Clean the mating surface on the engine and gearbox.
* Apply sealant to the transmission mating surface.
* Carefully install the gearbox onto the engine.
*Tighten the transmission mounting bolts according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
4. Replacing oil seals:
* Replace the drive seal of the right front axle shaft.
* Replace the left drive shaft oil seal.
5. Installation of drives and gear shift cable:
* Install front wheel drives.
* Connect the shift cable.
6. Oil filling:
* Install a new transmission filter.
* Fill the gearbox with new oil using the injection pump.
* Check the oil level and add if necessary.
7. Connecting wiring harnesses:
* Connect the wiring harness.
8. Final assembly:
* Install the lower gearbox cover.
* Connect the negative battery cable.
* Remove the vehicle from the jack stands.
9. Testing:
* Start the car and check the operation of the gearbox.
* Check for oil leaks.
* Reset transmission adaptations using a diagnostic scanner (recommended).
Note:
*Always follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions for your specific transmission model.
* Be sure to use new bolts and tighten them correctly.
* It is also recommended to replace the transmission mounting pads.
*Transmission adaptation may take some time and several trips.
