Adaptation of automatic transmission Kia Ceed JD
Adaptation of the automatic transmission is necessary after changing the oil, filter or any transmission components. This allows the transmission to adapt to new conditions and provide smooth and efficient gear changes.
Required tools:
* OBD-II diagnostic scanner
* Computer
Adaptation procedure:
1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the car.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select the ‘Transmission’ section in the scanner.
4. Find the ‘Gearbox adaptation’ function.
5. Start the adaptation procedure.
6. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
In general, the procedure includes the following steps:
* Switching the gear selector to all positions (P, R, N, D, M) with pauses in each position.
* Shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and back at idle.
* Shifting gears under load (smooth acceleration and braking).
7. After completing the adaptation procedure, turn off the ignition.
8. Start the engine and check the operation of the transmission.
Notes:
*Adaptation time may vary from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the vehicle.

*If you are unsure of your skills, it is recommended that you consult a professional mechanic.
