Adaptation of automatic transmission Toyota Prado 150 diesel

Automatic transmission adaptation is necessary to ensure optimal operation of the transmission by calibrating its parameters in accordance with the driving style and operating conditions of the vehicle.

Required equipment:

* Adapter for Toyota Techstream or Carman Scan diagnostics
*Laptop or tablet

Adaptation procedure:

1. Connect the diagnostic adapter to the vehicle diagnostic connector.
2. Launch Techstream or Carman Scan software.
3. Select your car model and year.
4. Go to the ‘Transmission’ section.
5. Select ‘Automatic transmission adaptation’.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen. Typically the adaptation process takes about 15-20 minutes.
7. After adaptation is complete, turn off the ignition and wait a few minutes.
8. Start the engine and shift through all gears (P, R, N, D, 2, 1).
9. During the driving process, the automatic transmission will ‘learn’ your driving style and adapt its parameters accordingly.

When is it necessary to adapt an automatic transmission:

* After replacing the automatic transmission or its components
*After resetting adaptation values
* If malfunctions or jerks occur in the automatic transmission
* When the operating conditions of the vehicle change (for example, when installing new tires or towing a trailer)

Note:

*Before carrying out the adaptation, make sure that the gear oil is clean and at the correct level.
* Don’t interrupt the adaptation process.
*If you are not experienced with diagnostic equipment, consult a qualified mechanic.
