Adaptation of automatic transmission Toyota Corolla E150

Adaptation of the automatic transmission is necessary for the correct operation of the transmission after repair or replacement of components. It allows the automatic transmission control system to ‘learn’ the optimal gear shift points depending on driving conditions.

Required tools and equipment:

* Toyota Techstream diagnostic scanner or similar
* Cable for connecting to the car

Adaptation procedure:

1. Preparing the car:

* Make sure the engine is at operating temperature.
* Depress the brake pedal and keep it pressed throughout the entire procedure.
* Set the automatic transmission selector to ‘P’ (park).

2. Connection to car:

* Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
* Run the diagnostic program and select the Toyota Corolla E150 model.

3. Selecting an adaptation procedure:

* In the main menu of the program, select the ‘Transmission’ option.
* Select ‘Automatic transmission adaptation’.

4. Start adaptation:

*Follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
*Adaptation usually takes about 5-10 minutes.

5. Completion of the procedure:

* After adaptation is completed, turn off the ignition and wait a few seconds.
* Then start the engine and check the operation of the automatic transmission.

The following adaptation steps must be completed after the initial procedure:

* Clutch adaptation:
* Accelerate to a speed of about 80 km/h and release the gas pedal.
* Repeat the procedure 3-5 times.
* Gear shift adaptation:
* Accelerate to a speed of about 60 km/h and manually shift to a higher gear.
* Repeat the procedure for all gears.

Notes:

* It is recommended that automatic transmission adaptation be performed by a certified specialist.
* If the adaptation has not been carried out properly, gear shifting problems or other automatic transmission problems may occur.
*If any problems occur, consult your vehicle’s service manual or a qualified mechanic.
