Adaptation of automatic transmission Land Rover Discovery 4
Required tools:
* Diagnostic scanner
* Computer with diagnostic software installed
Adaptation procedure:
1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle.
2. Launch diagnostic software.
3. Select your Land Rover Discovery 4 model.
4. Go to the transmission section.
5. Select the ‘Automatic transmission adaptation’ function.
6. Complete the following steps as described in the software:
* Move the gear selector to ‘P’ position.
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
*Press and hold the brake pedal.
* Move the gear selector to each position and hold it for 5 seconds: D, R, N, P.
* Repeat step b 3 more times.
* Release the brake pedal.
* Turn off the engine.
7. Start the engine again.
8. Go to the transmission section in the diagnostic software.
9. Select the ‘Reset automatic transmission adaptation’ function.
10. Confirm reset.
11. Move the gear selector to ‘D’ and drive for a few minutes to allow the transmission to adapt to the new driving style.
Notes:
* Automatic transmission adaptation must be performed after replacing the transmission fluid or automatic transmission components.
*Adaptation may take from 30 minutes to several days depending on driving style.
* During adaptation, avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
