Adaptation of PowerShift gearbox on Ford Kuga II after restyling

Required equipment:

* Diagnostic scanner ELM327 or similar
* Vehicle diagnostic software (eg FORScan, UCDS)

Adaptation Instructions:

1. Connect the scanner and launch the software

* Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle’s OBD-II connector.
* Launch the diagnostic software and establish communication with the vehicle’s on-board network.

2. Switch to engineering mode

* Turn the ignition key to the ‘On’ position, but do not start the engine.
* Open the diagnostic software and go to the ‘Central Configuration’ section.
* Enter security code ‘00000’. This will allow you to access engineering mode.

3. Selecting the ‘Transmission’ section

* In engineering mode, go to the ‘Transmission’ section.
* In this section you will find the ‘Adaptation’ submenu.

4. Perform adaptation

* In the ‘Adaptation’ submenu, select the ‘Clutch Adaptation’ option.
* Click the ‘Start’ button.
* The adaptation process will take a few minutes. During the process, do not turn off the ignition and do not touch the gas pedal.

5. Exit engineering mode

* After completing the adaptation, click the ‘Exit’ button.
* Exit engineering mode.

6. Restart the engine

* Turn off and restart the engine.
* Let the engine idle for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the gearbox to adapt to the new settings.

Note:

*After transmission adaptation, additional time may be required to fully tune the transmission. Avoid sudden acceleration or braking for the first few days after the procedure.
*If you still experience transmission problems after adjustment, contact a qualified mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
