Adaptation of automatic transmission 5HP19 after repair

After a major overhaul of the 5HP19 automatic transmission, which is installed in BMW cars, it is necessary to adapt it. This allows the transmission controller to learn new parameters and ensure optimal operation.

Required equipment:

* Diagnostic scanner BMW ISTA/D or Rheingold
* OBD-II cable

Adaptation procedure:

1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the vehicle via the OBD-II port.
2. Run the ISTA/D or Rheingold diagnostic software.
3. Select the car model and enter the automatic transmission control unit.
4. Go to the ‘Adaptation’ section.
5. Select the ‘Adapt after repair’ option.
6. Follow the instructions on the diagnostic scanner.
7. Press the brake pedal and shift the gear selector lever to the indicated positions.
8. After completing all the steps, click the ‘Finish’ button to complete the adaptation.

Important:

* The vehicle engine must be idling during adaptation.
* Be careful when changing gears to avoid damaging the gearbox.
* Make sure the transmission fluid level is correct.
