Adaptation of SsangYong Kyron diesel automatic transmission

Adaptation of automatic transmission is necessary for correct operation of the transmission and ensuring smooth gear shifting.

Required tools:

* OBD-II diagnostic scanner

Adaptation procedure:

1. Preparing the car

* Warm up the engine to operating temperature.
* Turn off all electrical appliances and move the gear lever to ‘P’ position.
* Connect the scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.

2. Beginning of adaptation

* Open the scanner software and select your car model.
* In the menu, select the ‘Transmission’ or ‘Automatic Transmission’ section.
* Find the ‘Adaptation’ or ‘Automatic Transmission Retraining’ option.

3. Perform adaptation

*Follow the instructions on the scanner screen.
* Adaptation may take some time (usually 10-15 minutes).
* During the procedure, the engine will operate at higher speeds.
* Do not turn off the engine or change gears until the adaptation is complete.

4. Completion of adaptation

*When adaptation is complete, a notification or sound will appear on the scanner screen.
* Disconnect the scanner and turn off the engine.
*Wait a few minutes before starting the engine again.

Additional tips:

* Adapt the automatic transmission every 20-30 thousand kilometers or after repairing the transmission.
* If adaptation is not successful, contact your service center.
*If you do not have a diagnostic scanner, please contact your dealer or independent service center for adaptation.
