Adaptation of automatic transmission Mazda CX-5
Materials:
* Mazda diagnostic scanner
*Clean rag or napkin
Procedure:
1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the OBDII connector. The OBDII connector is usually located under the steering wheel on the driver’s side.
2. Turn on the ignition. Do not start the engine.
3. Shift the gear lever to P (Park).
4. Select the ‘Transmission’ section using the diagnostic scanner.
5. Find the ‘Automatic transmission adaptation’ function. The name of the function may vary depending on the diagnostic scanner model.
6. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen. You may need to follow these steps:
* Clear adaptation values
* Conduct a training ride
Clearing adaptation values
* Select the ‘Clear adaptation values’ option.
* Confirm the action.
* The diagnostic scanner will reset the automatic transmission adaptation values.
Educational ride
* Start the engine.
* Shift the gear lever to D (Drive).
* Drive at a speed of about 60 km/h for 5 minutes.
* Do some acceleration and braking.
* Stop and shift to P position.
Completion
* After completing the learning drive, turn off the ignition.
* Disconnect the diagnostic scanner.
* Wipe the gear lever with a clean cloth or tissue.
Note:
* Adaptation of automatic transmission may be required after repair or replacement of transmission components.
