Automatic transmission emergency mode reset

Warning: Before performing a reset, make sure that the problem with the automatic transmission has been corrected and there are no fluid leaks.

Method 1: Disconnect/connect the battery terminal

1. Locate the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Reconnect the negative terminal.
4. Start the engine and check if the emergency mode is reset.

Method 2: Removing the automatic transmission fuse

1. Locate the automatic transmission fuse in the fuse box.
2. Remove the fuse for 10-15 seconds.
3. Reinsert the fuse.
4. Start the engine and check if the emergency mode is reset.

Method 3: Using an OBD2 scanner

1. Connect the OBD2 scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
2. Select the “Reset fault codes” option.
3. Clear all automatic transmission related fault codes.
4. Turn off the scanner and start the engine.
5. Check if the emergency mode has been reset.

Additional tips:

*If the emergency mode does not reset after following these methods, you may need to contact your mechanic.
* Check the automatic transmission fluid level and add fluid if necessary.
* A damaged or worn automatic transmission sensor can also lead to limp mode.
*If the limp mode returns after a reset, this may indicate a more serious problem with the automatic transmission that requires repair.
