Filters for SsangYong automatic transmissions
Air filter
* NOT NEEDED for SsangYong gearboxes
Oil filter
* Oil filter cover with filter element (inside the gearbox housing)
Fine filter
* Built into the oil pump or valve body
Oil pan mesh
* Filters contaminants from the oil pan
Procedure for replacing the oil filter and oil pan mesh
Oil filter:
1. Drain the oil from the gearbox.
2. Remove the transmission pan.
3. Remove the cover with the filter element from the hole in the housing.
4. Install a new cover and filter element.
5. Place the tray in place.
6. Pour new oil into the gearbox.
Oil pan mesh:
1. Drain the oil from the gearbox.
2. Remove the transmission pan.
3. Remove the oil pan screen.
4. Wash the mesh in clean ATF (transmission fluid).
5. Place the mesh on the pallet.
6. Place the tray in place.
7. Pour new oil into the gearbox.
Recommended replacement intervals:
* Oil filter: every 60,000 km or 4 years
* Oil pan grid: every 120,000 km or 8 years
Attention:
*ATF type and specification vary by vehicle model and year.
*Always follow the vehicle manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations.
* Filters should be replaced by a qualified technician.
