Fluid type: Volvo ATF 3106

Volume:

* 9.8 l (fluid change)
* 9.1 l (partial fluid change)

Replacement interval:

* It is recommended to change every 60,000 – 80,000 km or every 4-6 years (whichever comes first)
* Under severe operating conditions (towing, driving in mountainous areas), more frequent replacement is recommended

Required tools and materials:

* New Volvo ATF 3106 fluid
* New transmission oil filter
* Oil pan gasket
* Drain plug washer
* Car maintenance tool kit
* Container for draining waste liquid

Replacement procedure:

1. Place the vehicle on a lift or securely support it.
2. Cover the work area with a clean cloth or cardboard.
3. Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the transmission oil pan.
4. Unscrew the drain plug and drain the waste liquid into a container.
5. Replace the drain plug washer with a new one and tighten the plug.
6. Unscrew the oil pan bolts and carefully remove it.
7. Remove and replace the transmission oil filter.
8. Install a new oil pan with a new gasket. Tighten the pan bolts in a circle to the specified torque.
9. Fill in new fluid through the dipstick hole.
10. Start the engine and let it idle, shifting all gears in park mode.
11. Check the fluid level using the dipstick and add if necessary.
12. Reset the fluid aging counter using the Volvo diagnostic scan tool.

Notes:

* It is important to use only Volvo ATF 3106 fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
*Changing your transmission fluid regularly will help extend the life of your transmission and prevent costly repairs.
*If you are unsure of your abilities, it is recommended that you have the fluid changed by a qualified mechanic.
