Truck electrician
Responsibilities:
* Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems on trucks
* Diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical components
* Checking and replacing wiring, batteries, starters, generators, etc.
* Installation and maintenance of lighting, signal and sound systems
* Repair and replacement of electronic control units (ECU)
* Perform preventative checks and maintenance to ensure electrical systems are in good working order
* Working with electrical diagrams and service manuals
* Compliance with safety regulations and rules for handling electrical equipment
Requirements:
*Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
* 2+ years of experience as a truck electrician
* Thorough understanding of truck electrical systems
* Knowledge of working with electronic control units (ECUs) and electronic systems
*Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
*Strong soldering and wire joining skills
* Willingness to work in adverse conditions and with heavy equipment
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Physical endurance and ability to lift weights
* Driver’s license (if necessary)
Desirable:
* Experience with diesel engines
* Knowledge of Truck Management Systems (TCMS)
* Experience with diagnostic equipment and software
* Automotive electrician certificate
Working conditions:
