Required tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission pan gasket (part No. 09104-00050)
* 10 mm wrench
* 12 mm wrench
*Torque key
* New automatic transmission pan bolts (optional, but recommended)
* Cleaning solvent
* Napkins or clean rag
Instructions:
1. Ensure safety: Place the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle: Use a jack and stands to raise the vehicle and provide access to the transmission pan.
3. Drain the oil from the automatic transmission: Before removing the pan, drain the oil from the automatic transmission into a suitable container. Open the pan drain plug using a 12mm wrench and drain the oil.
4. Remove the automatic transmission pan: Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan. The pallet can be secured with 10-14 bolts.
5. Clean the surfaces: Clean the surfaces of the automatic transmission pan and automatic transmission housing with a cleaning solvent and wipes or a clean rag. Remove all gasket and oil residues.
6. Install a new gasket: Place the new gasket on a clean surface of the transmission pan. Make sure the gasket is aligned and installed correctly.
7. Install the automatic transmission pan: Lift the automatic transmission pan and install it on the automatic transmission housing. Screw the automatic transmission pan bolts using a 10 mm wrench.
8. Tighten the transmission pan bolts: Using a torque wrench, tighten the transmission pan bolts to manufacturer specifications (usually 10-12 Nm).
9. Fill the automatic transmission with oil: Fill the automatic transmission with new or clean oil specified in the vehicle’s operating manual. Check the oil level and add if necessary.
10. Connect the negative terminal of the battery: Connect the negative terminal of the battery, lower the vehicle and start the engine.
11. Check for leaks: Let the engine idle and check the transmission pan for leaks. If necessary, tighten the automatic transmission pan bolts.
