Self-diagnosis of automatic transmission Toyota Kaldina
Materials:
* Paperclip or thin wire
Procedure:
1. Set the ignition switch to “ON” (2nd position), but do not start the engine.
2. Locate the DLC3 connector (diagnostic cable) under the driver’s side panel.
3. Connect the terminals “TC” and “E1” in the DLC3 connector with a paper clip or wire.
4. Read the fault codes flashing on the Overdrive indicator lamp (O/D OFF).
The fault code will flash as follows:
* One long blink (2-3 seconds)
* Several short blinks (0.5-1 second)
* Pause 2-3 seconds
* Repeat sequence
For example:
* One long blink – pause – 2 short blinks
* Fault code: 12
Automatic transmission fault code table:
| Code | Description |
|—|—|
| 11 | Shift solenoid (1-2) |
| 12 | Shift solenoid (2-3) |
| 13 | Shift solenoid (3-4) |
| 14 | Shift Position Sensor |
| 15 | Torque converter lock-up solenoid |
| 16 | Output Shaft Speed Sensor |
| 17 | Engine speed sensor |
| 18 | Coolant temperature sensor |
Resetting fault codes:
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Remove the paperclip or wire from the DLC3 connector.
3. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
4. Fault codes must be reset.
Note:
* If no code flashes, it means that no faults have been detected in the automatic transmission.
*Only a qualified technician should interpret and repair automatic transmission faults.
* If serious problems arise with the automatic transmission, seek help from a mechanic.
