Toyota Corolla E150 automatic transmission selector diagram
Selector position | Mode
—|—|
P | Parking
R | Reverse
N | Neutral
D | Drive (moving forward)
2 | Second gear (for low speed driving or steep inclines)
L | First gear (for driving at very low speeds or on steep descents)
Peculiarities:
* The selector is located on the center console.
* To change to another gear, press the release button on the selector handle.
* You can only shift to P gear when the vehicle is completely stopped and the brake pedal is pressed.
* To change to N gear, you must first switch to P mode.
* When shifting into R or D gear, the vehicle must be completely stopped and the brake pedal must be depressed.
Additional features:
Overdrive (OD): When the OD button is turned on (illuminated), the transmission automatically shifts to the highest gear for improved fuel economy. Disabling OD (button off) can be useful for overtaking or driving in hilly areas.
Tilt Control Mode: When engaged (ECT PWR button illuminated), the transmission will hold a lower gear and shift to higher gears later, providing better engine responsiveness, especially when driving over hilly terrain or with a heavy load.
