Toyota Corolla automatic transmission control diagram
Input signals:
* Throttle Position Sensor
*Car speed sensor
* Engine temperature sensor
* Engine speed sensor
* Gear shift lever
Output signals:
* Shift Solenoids
* Torque converter lock-up solenoid
Control circuit:
1. The throttle position sensor tells the ECU about the throttle position.
2. Vehicle speed sensor and engine speed sensor provide information about vehicle speed and engine speed.
3. The engine temperature sensor tells the ECU the engine temperature.
4. The gear shift lever indicates the desired gear to the ECU.
5. The ECU processes the input signals and determines the optimal gear based on the following factors:
* Engine load
* Vehicle speed
* Engine temperature
6. The ECU sends signals to the shift solenoids to engage the appropriate gear.
7. The ECU also controls the torque converter lock-up solenoid, which locks the torque converter in certain gears to improve efficiency.
