Steps to replace the right-hand drive oil seal of an automatic transmission

Tools and materials:

* New oil seal for the right automatic transmission drive
* Flat head screwdriver
* Hammer
* Forceps
* Automatic transmission oil
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (if necessary)

Safety:

*Always wear safety glasses and gloves when working on your vehicle.
* Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is set.
* Allow the engine to cool before operating.

Steps:

1. Drain the oil from the automatic transmission. Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan and drain the oil into a container.
2. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan and carefully separate it from the transmission. Note: If the pan gasket is damaged, replace it with a new one.
3. Remove the right drive shaft. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the gap between the drive shaft and the differential flange. Carefully pull the screwdriver towards you to disengage the drive shaft.
4. Remove the old oil seal. Using pliers, carefully pry and remove the old oil seal from the drive shaft.
5. Install a new oil seal. Apply a small amount of automatic transmission oil to the new oil seal and place it on the drive shaft. Make sure the seal is tight and level.
6. Reinstall the drive shaft. Place the drive shaft in place and hammer it in until it stops.
7. Install the automatic transmission pan. Clean the pan and transmission surfaces and install a new gasket if necessary. Screw the pan into place and tighten the bolts.
8. Pour oil into the automatic transmission. Pour the required amount of automatic transmission oil into the pan. Check the oil level and add if necessary.
9. Check for leaks. Start the engine and check the automatic transmission pan for leaks. Repair any leaks as necessary.
