Self-diagnosis of automatic transmission Nissan Expert

Required tools:

* Paperclip or wire

Procedure:

1. Make sure the car is in park and the engine is turned off.
2. Locate the DLC diagnostic connector. It is usually located under the dashboard, to the left of the steering column.
3. Insert a paperclip or wire into the DLC pins, connecting the TC (4) and GND (2) pins. ([DLC Pin Configuration](https://i.stack.imgur.com/0hK54.png))
4. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
5. Wait a few seconds until you see the OD indicator on the dashboard flashing.

Interpretation of the flashing code:

* One long flash (flashes 10 times) followed by short flashes: Trouble codes P0700 – P0715 (see table below).
* Two long flashes (flashes 20 times) followed by short flashes: Trouble codes P0716 – P0799 (see table below).
* Three long flashes (flashes 30 times): No fault codes.

Note:

*If you see three or more long flashes, this indicates that the self-test has not been performed properly. Repeat the procedure.
*If you find a fault code, contact a professional mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
