Rules for driving with an automatic transmission:

When starting the engine:

* Make sure the gear shift lever is in the Park (P) position.
*Press the brake pedal.
* Start the engine.

When driving:

* To drive, move the gear lever to the “Drive” (D) position.
* Release the brake pedal and gently press the gas pedal.
* The car will start moving.

When changing gears:

* You do not need to press the clutch pedal to change gears.
* To downshift to a lower gear, such as on a mountain road, move the gearshift lever to the “Shift-down” (-) or “Manual” (M) position, then manually select the desired gear.
* To change to a higher gear, for example on the freeway, simply release the gas pedal and press it again.

When stopping:

* To stop the car, press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear lever to the “Park” (P) position.
* Put the car on the handbrake.

Important Tips:

* Never shift to Neutral (N) while driving. This can lead to gearbox failure.
* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
* Do not use the Neutral (N) position to prevent rolling. Use the handbrake or hold down the brake pedal.
* When towing your vehicle, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
*Service the transmission regularly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
*Do not attempt to repair the transmission yourself. Contact a qualified mechanic.
