Location of the reverse sensor on Kia Rio 3 with automatic transmission:
1. Look under the back of the car.
2. Find the gearbox. This is a large metal box attached to the engine.
3. Locate the harness connector on the right side of the transmission (passenger’s side).
4. The reverse sensor will be screwed into the transmission housing near the wiring harness connector. It is usually black or brown in color.
Replacing the reverse sensor:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate and disconnect the harness connector from the reverse sensor.
3. Use a wrench or socket of the appropriate size to loosen and remove the reverse sensor.
4. Screw the new reverse sensor into place by hand.
5. Tighten the reverse sensor with a wrench or socket.
6. Connect the harness connector to the reverse sensor.
7. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
