Material reserves:
* New automatic transmission internal filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission oil
* Oil drain pan
* Wrenches (sizes 10, 12, 14, 17 mm)

Instructions:
1. Safety first:
* Stop the engine and let the car cool down.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Raise the car using a jack and install secure supports.
2. Draining the automatic transmission oil:
* Place an oil drain pan under the automatic transmission pan.
* Unscrew the pan drain plug using a 17mm wrench.
* Oil will begin to flow out. Let it drain completely into the pan.
* Screw the drain plug back with a new washer.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* Disconnect the electrical connector of the automatic transmission oil level sensor.
* Unscrew the automatic transmission pan bolts using 10 and 12 mm wrenches.
* Carefully remove the tray. Be prepared for any remaining oil to leak out.
4. Replacing the automatic transmission filter:
* Find the internal automatic transmission filter in the pan. It is usually located in the center or at the rear of the tray.
* Unscrew the filter bolts using a 6mm hex key.
*Remove the old filter.
* Clean the sealing surfaces of the filter and pan thoroughly.
* Install the new filter and tighten the bolts.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Apply automatic transmission sealant to the sealing surface of the pan.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts.
* Connect the electrical connector of the automatic transmission oil level sensor.
6. Filling automatic transmission oil:
* Fill in new automatic transmission oil through the dipstick hole. The amount of oil you need to add depends on your specific Honda Civic model. Check your vehicle’s owner’s manual for the correct information.
* Insert the dipstick and check the oil level. Add or drain oil as necessary.
7. Inspection and testing:
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Check for oil leaks.
* Shift the gears in order and make sure the shift is smooth.
8. Final check of oil level:
* Drive the car for 10-15 minutes and allow the oil to warm up and cool down.
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Turn off the engine and wait 5 minutes.
* Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean and reinsert it.
* Check the oil level. It should be between the “min” and “max” marks on the dipstick.
