Repair of automatic transmission valve body solenoids

Required tools and materials:

* Set of socket wrenches
* Hex key set
* Screwdriver set
* Carburetor cleaner
* Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
* New gaskets and o-rings

Precautions:

* Make sure the engine and transmission are cool.
*Work in a well-ventilated area.
* Wear protective equipment such as gloves and safety glasses.

Instructions:

1. Remove the automatic transmission valve body:

* Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve body.
* Remove the bolts securing the valve body to the transmission housing.
* Carefully remove the hydraulic unit.

2. Disassemble the valve body:

* Remove the top cover of the valve body.
* Remove the solenoids from the valve body.

3. Clean solenoids:

* Spray carburetor cleaner onto the solenoids and wipe them with a clean cloth.
* Make sure all openings and channels are clean.

4. Check solenoids:

* Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance of the solenoid windings.
* Compare the measured values with those indicated in the technical manual.
*Solenoids with high resistance or interruption must be replaced.

5. Replace solenoids:

* Install new solenoids in the valve body.
* Tighten all mounting bolts to the torque specified in the manual.

6. Assemble the valve body:

* Install the top cover on the hydraulic unit.
* Install the valve body onto the transmission housing and tighten the bolts.
* Connect the electrical connector to the valve body.

7. Fill the transmission with ATF:

* Check the ATF fluid level and add it if necessary.
* Start the engine and run it for a few minutes to allow the ATF to circulate.
*Check the ATF fluid level again and adjust if necessary.

8. Reset transmission adaptation:

*Following the instructions in the service manual, reset the transmission adaptation.
* This will ensure optimal transmission performance with the new solenoids.

Adviсe:

*Use only high quality ATF fluid.
* Replace all gaskets and O-rings with new ones.
* When assembling the valve body, follow the correct bolt tightening sequence.
*If you do not have experience repairing transmissions, it is highly recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
