Removing and installing a reduction resistor for an Opel Antara automatic transmission

Required tools:

* Set of keys
* Flat head screwdriver

Removal procedure:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the automatic transmission reduction resistor under the car, next to the gearbox.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the resistor.
4. Remove the bolt securing the resistor to the automatic transmission housing.
5. Remove the resistor from the car.

Installation procedure:

1. Install the resistor on the automatic transmission housing and tighten the bolt.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the resistor.
3. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

Location of the reduction resistor in the Opel Antara automatic transmission:

The resistor is located under the car, next to the right front axle, next to the gearbox. It will look like a small black cylinder with a male electrical connector.

Note:

* Let the vehicle cool down before starting work.
* Use a torque wrench to tighten the resistor mounting bolt to a torque of 10 Nm.
*If the resistor is defective, it must be replaced with a new one.
