Proper warming up of the car transmission

1. Start the engine and let it idle for one minute.

This allows the engine oil and transmission fluid to circulate and warm up to operating temperature. Do not press the gas pedal while warming up.

2. Shift the gear selector to “D” or “R” and keep your foot on the brake.

This opens the oil passages in the transmission and allows oil to circulate.

3. Release the brake and allow the vehicle to move forward or backward slowly.

Don’t press on the gas pedal. The car should roll slowly due to idle torque.

4. Drive at low speed for several minutes.

This allows the transmission to shift smoothly between gears and warm up the gearshift mechanism.

5. Increase speed gradually.

As the transmission warms up, you can gradually increase the speed.

Adviсe:

* Do not accelerate too much during warm-up.
*Do not tow trailers or heavy loads while warming up.
* In very cold weather, allow the vehicle to warm up longer.
* If you feel slipping or vibration when shifting gears, stop and check the transmission fluid level.
*Service the transmission regularly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
