Material costs:
* Oil for automatic transmission Toyota WS (about 4 liters)
* Automatic transmission filter (if necessary)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (if necessary)
Tools:
* Set of keys
* 10 and 12 mm sockets
* Flat head screwdriver
* Funnel
* Tray for draining oil
Step by step guide:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Let the engine idle for 10 minutes to warm up the automatic transmission oil.
2. Draining the oil:
* Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission housing (usually under the pan, in front).
* Place the bath under the drain hole.
* Unscrew the drain plug with a 10 or 12 mm wrench.
* Let the oil drain into the tray. This may take 10-15 minutes.
3. Filter replacement (if necessary):
* Remove the automatic transmission pan by unscrewing its bolts.
*Remove the old filter and install a new one.
* Reinstall the automatic transmission pan with a new gasket.
4. Filling with new oil:
* Using a funnel, pour about 3 liters of new oil into the automatic transmission.
* Start the engine and shift the gear selector through all positions.
* Let the engine idle for a few minutes.
5. Checking the oil level:
* Turn off the engine.
* Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick.
* The oil level should be between the “hot” and “cold” marks on the dipstick.
*If the oil level is too low, add a little more oil.
*If the oil level is too high, drain some oil.
6. Resetting the automatic transmission oil aging counter:
* Connect the OBD2 scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
* Enter the automatic transmission control module.
* Reset the automatic transmission oil aging counter.
7. Troubleshooting:
* If after a partial oil change you notice any problems with the operation of the automatic transmission, seek professional diagnostics and service.
